In George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead, years after a zombie apocalypse, the dead roam the Earth freely, with only small pockets of humanity remaining. The remaining humans send out scouting and supply gathering missions to keep the wealthy and powerful protected in their fortress of solitude. All that is about to change when the zombies begin communicating and thinking. Their city, a shining beacon of light and resistance, becomes the target of the zombie horde.
A feudal-like government, formed by survivors, exists in a city barricaded on two sides by rivers and on the third by an electric fence. The city is sustained by a convoy of scouts and supply gatherers who sell their goods to the rich and powerful, living in the city.
The convoy inadvertently attracts unwanted attention as a horde of the dead follow it back to the city, overwhelming their defenses, slaughtering and feeding on the remaining humans. A band of survivors struggles to escape and save whomever they can from the feasting dead in this action-packed horror film.
