Gardening

After one month.

Month One (May 2012)

  • Sprouted several seeds and planted them using recycled glass and clay pellets.
  • Some basil and onion purchased with intact roots and growing well.
  • Window farm is under construction, but the pump doesn’t seem to be working properly. I fear it isn’t powerful enough to get the water flowing from the tank to the top tier.

After month two.

Month Two (June 2012)

  • Pruned away dead leaves and stems to allow for more light to reach the healthy plants. Basil and green onion appear to be growing nicely.
  • One of the tomato plants has a yellow-green tinge to its leaves which I am somewhat concerned about.
  • Scrapped the original window farm design. It was a prototype from my brother which needs to be modified before it is fully functional
  • My basil plant is healthy and well and has been in use for many recipes thus far.

After month three.

Month Three (July 2012)

  • Assembled a window farm with several tomato plants.
  • Sprouted some snow pea plants
  • Found a garlic clove with green growth on it and am attempting to get it started.
  • Trimmed green onions (have been using them in several recipes) and disposed of some dead plants that were killed by stagnant water. I am now changing the water as often as possible until I can transfer them to a window farm apparatus.
