Slow and steady wins the race.

A resilient tortoise was rediscovered by a family in a locked store room thirty years after they lost her.

Manuela (the tortoise) disappeared from her home in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1982. After their father died earlier this month that the Almeida children began clearing out a second-floor room in the house that he had filled with broken electrical items and always kept locked. Continue reading

What is this I don’t even…?

I don’t understand… How is this a thing? It seems exceedingly creep that a bunch of adults are obsessed with a 5 year old’s cartoon. In denial that this is a real thing. Noem was in South Dakota farming stuff while Varilek traveled around the world earning advanced degrees and giving presentations to the UN before working in politics. The choice is clear: A highly educated environmentalist with varying experiences, working with many types … Continue reading

Low Clearance: 11′ 8″

There is a particular bridge in Durham, NC is ever so slightly lower than your average bridge. The result is an extraordinary amount of trucks which get a close shave as they attempt to pass under the railroad trestle. One man set out to capture the routine destruction of box trucks and other oversized vehicles as they slam into the bottom of the bridge at Peabody and Gregson streets, west of downtown Durham. Inexperienced drivers seem oblivious to the warning signs and flashing “overheight” warning lights. Ultimately, the … Continue reading
