Website Design

Website Design

Website Design, Re-design & Web Marketing materials created for freelance clients.

Web design defines how your users view and interact with your site. It creates your client’s first impression of your business and services. It is an elaborate process requiring creativity, flexibility and innovation. Approaching web design from an artistic standpoint results in an elegant, visually attractive yet functional website. At ExEivot Design, I create a custom design website solutions from scratch, or work with you to augment an existing design.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design

Artisticly styled custom designs for posters, brochures and print materials, logos, and apparel designs created for freelance clients and various employers.

My designs emphasize blending imagery and typography into a cohesive body of work. Creating a cohesive piece requires a careful balance of design elements. The effective communication of information must converge seamlessly with the aesthetic. Graphical elements must not only work visually with each other, but must reinforce the message. Only through this balance can the successful communication of an idea occur.

Digital Art

Digital Art

Digitally created artwork from my undergraduate career up until the present.

Digital Artwork is my passion. I have been messing with computers since “Zookeeper” came out in the days of floppy discs and DOS based ASCII games.

I always enjoyed drawing but it wasn’t until high school that I began to use digital software to create artwork. I started with windows movie maker and MS Paint to create some very basic frame by frame animations with sound effects. Soon I discovered Photoshop and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite and by then I was hooked on digital manipulation and haven’t looked back.

While studying at Elon University, I transferred from the Communications department after taking Digital Media Convergence. Not because the class was bad in any way… in fact, just the opposite. It made me realize my passion for the creative side of the digital realm. Marketing strategies and journalism skills are certainly useful tools, even today, but nothing can grasp my intellect like design.

Assessing and approaching the design problem from the creative side, working with familiar software and more importantly being forced to adapt intuitively to new software and methods of creation are instilled in my being. I live to create and nothing helps me create more effectively than a computer (and my trusty Wacom).

At Elon University I took the following courses: Digital Art I, Static Imaging, Adv. Static Imaging, Web Art, Digital Media Convergence, Internship in ART/ELR, Painting with the Computer & Interactive Art

Traditional Art

Traditional Art

Fine Art/Traditional media artwork from my undergraduate career at Elon University up until the present.

Traditional or Fine Art works are created outside the computer using any number of materials, namely: inks, pencils, charcoal or paints. They are not always two dimensional and can take a variety of forms. The gallery contains artwork I created by hand using traditional media & various mixed materials. At Elon University I completed the following courses: Fundamentals of Design, Drawing I & Drawing II: Life Drawing.

Video Art

Video Art / Animation

Kinetic projects, animations & video art from my undergraduate career at Elon University up until the present.

Videos are cut from captured footage, constructed or appropriated images/video and rendered using digital software like Final Cut Pro, Quicktime or Windws Movie Maker. I have been messing with video since the exploits of DP Studios when I was in high school. These are my kinetic projects, experiments in moving imagery and manipulation, set and costume designing and just messing around.

At Elon University I completed the following courses: Digital Art I & Kinetic Imaging.

Installation Art

Art Installations

Full art installation work (including guerilla art projects) from my undergraduate career at Elon University until the present.

Installations are works which cannot be removed from location without compromising the meaning. Installation art often refers to three-dimensional works designed to transform the perception of a space. They may include the use of digital media such as projected imagery or integrated audio. This gallery contains my site specific pieces constructed and put on display, including my guerrilla artwork. At Elon University I completed the following courses: Fundamentals of Design & Installation Art.

Senior Thesis

Senior Thesis Work

My senior thesis work and final installation entitled: The Sense of Self.

This body of work explores the soul, imaging it through a narrative pseudo-reality. In this world the soul is extracted and examined. Its characteristics are described in a constructed scene.

I created this body of work to be an interactive experience for the viewer. The installation itself appealed to a number of senses designed to arouse curiosity in the viewers. Copious notes, illustrations and diagrams littered a seemingly recently vacated lab desk.

Sketchbook

Sketchbook

Concept drawings, doodles and random sketches dating as far back as high school.

Sketches, Quick Studies, Concepts and Random Doodles. At Elon University I completed the following courses: Fundamentals of Design, Drawing I & Drawing II: Life Drawing. I also participated in the 2011 Sketchbook Project.
